History

Morn'star was born to a family of lesser nobles in Ishgard, and was raised to be the successor to his family line. Though, due to both his queerness and his empathy towards dragons, he was considered a problem child. He suffered a great deal of abuse under the watch of the Holy See, and quickly became disillusioned with the Church and Ishgard as a whole. In his late teen years, he sought out the Heretics in desperation, and was met with a reluctant but kind Lady Iceheart. He spent two years sneaking out to meet with his new illicit family, and in his eighteenth summer, fled Ishgard to join the Heretics in full.Morn'star served loyally under Ysayle, who had become a maternal figure to him over the years. During his work with the Heretics, Morn' was approached and later corrupted by a lesser Ascian, from whom he was freed by the Warrior of Light. At Ysayle's bidding, he was sent to Gridania to recover in relative safety. Unfortunately, this is where he was during a particular event in Azys Lla. Nearly swallowed whole by his grief, he was approached by the Warrior of Light with an offer for revenge against the Garleans, which he accepted with fervor.Years later, matured and settled with a family, he still considers himself a loyal Heretic and fervent follower of Ysayle, fully embracing his place as her adopted son. He currently serves as a point of communications between Dravania and Ishgard, working closely with Lord Commander Aymeric and Vidofnr. He still works occasionally with the Warrior of Light, though largely remains in the Coerthan-Dravanian area as a self-appointed guardian. He is considered by some to be a satellite Scion, though he refuses to adopt the title officially. He leads a black-ops style squadron of Ishgardian and Dravanian soldiers called the Winter Wolves, who serve to quell the activities of zealots and to act as a penetrating force against larger threats such as the Garlean empire.

Justice and Heresy
As if the Lord Commander courting a known and proud Heretic wasn't scandalous enough, the man also insists on indulging even his partners' wildest interests. The man is a people pleaser, and patient to a fault-- good thing, too, since the one he's trying to please is a stubborn little asshat.
(Fetish-- feedism and whump.)
Echos
The Warrior of Light has a glimps into Morn's sorded history within the walls of Ishgard - and it involves quite a bit more than initially thoguht.
(Warning for heavy implications for past trauma including child abuse and converstion therapy.)

Assorted Trivia

  • Morn'star's name is the shortened version of Ysayle's name for him-- Morning Star. It is not, in fact, based in the Dravanian word for "death" as many assume, though he admits it's an amusing and poignant coincidence considering his aesthetic.

  • Morn' does not worship any of the Twelve. Due to his abuse at the hands of the Holy See, he has refuted both Halone and the rest of the pantheon. He pays reverence to Saint Shiva, though he treats her more as an elder than an actual god.

  • While Morn' is quiet and short of words verbally, he often writes in long-form prose, and enjoys both reading and writing fiction.

  • Though he is more well known for his battle prowess, Morn' considers himself something of an artisan, enjoying both cooking and drawing whenever he has the time. He's also a skilled musician, though he has yet to work up the courage to perform in front of others for pleasure rather than work.

  • Morn' has a pet bat which was gifted to him by the Warrior of Light upon their second, less violent meeting. He named the bat Ale Thief, though he's been known to steal anything edible. Morn's two mounts of choice are his personal Chocobo, a beautiful dark blue beauty granted to him by the Twin Adders that he named Potoooooooo (pronounced "potatoes''), and his snow Wolf named Black Ice, who was a gift from Ysayle.

  • Morn' is left-handed. This gives him a few odd advantages in combat. Fewer enemies are trained to combat left-handed swordsmen, putting Morn' at a slight advantage in general combat. He also tends to conceal his weapons under his robes on his right side where few think to glance for a weapon.

OOC Notes

  • Morn' is not open for shipping. He is mostly aromantic, with his one exception being the specific Aymeric he is shipped with in his mainverse. If chemistry happens, I will bring it up. Otherwise, please do not expect romantic partnership from him. Sex-only hookups or friends-with-benefits relationships are fine.

  • I'm not comfortable RPing with writers under 18. Due to the adult nature of many of the themes I enjoy writing, I'm not comfortable playing with minors. Do not lie to me about your age. If I find out you have, you can expect to never hear from me again. This rule is for WRITERS, not CHARACTERS. I'm fine with Morn' interacting with children in-character, though please be warned he has no idea how to talk to kids and is a terrible babysitter.

  • Please do not bring up child sexual abuse or animal abuse or death in roleplay without warning me first. I'm fine dealing with darker themes, can enjoy doing so at times, and sometimes roleplay darker scenes as a means of coping with trauma. But these ARE triggers for me. So please don't bring them up out of the blue. And if I say "no" or "not right now," respect my answer.

  • Morn' is open for NSFW. Morn' has worked as a court, and will accept anyone of any gender or race (including beastclans and dragons); if you are concenting and paying, Morn' isn't picky. If money isn't involved, he prefers masculine and non-binary individuals, and has a strong preference for other Elezen, Au Ra, and fem-Roes. He is a sub-heavy switch, and enjoys pain and humiliation. He is also a feedist, but is very shy about admitting it. Morn' is transgender, I WILL NOT play him as cis. Please do not ask.

  • Please be patient with me. I am disabled and that can sometimes make replying promptly difficult. I will be patient with you, please do the same for me.
